Here at Monster Plumbing, we know you care about your home, and we want to help you keep it as comfortable as possible. One appliance that makes a significant difference in your overall comfort is your water heater–after all, if you didn’t have hot water to bathe in, or to keep your laundry or dishes clean, you’d be pretty miserable.
Our team wants to help you keep your hot water heater in good working order, and in order to do that, we have put together this list of ways to determine whether you need water heater repair–if you notice any of these things happening in your home, we encourage you to call us so we can correct the problem before it gets worse.
- Inconsistent Water Temperature- One indicator that you may need water heater repair is fluctuations in your water temperature. This problem is most often caused by mineral deposits on the heating elements, which cause them to heat up unevenly.
- Rust in Your Hot Water- Another sign that you need water heater repair is the presence of rust particles in your hot water. If rust starts to show up in both your hot and cold water, then the problem is most likely with the pipes, but if only the hot water is rusty, then the problem is most likely with the heater itself.
- Lack of Hot Water- Finally, the most obvious sign that you need water heater repair is a lack of hot water–if the water temperature stops rising above lukewarm, then the most likely explanation is that something is wrong with the heater. If this happens to you, just give us a call to have our experts inspect your system, identify the problem, and provide the solution you need.
