Gas line replacement is an important aspect of plumbing. However, because of the hazards involved in handling gas, it’s usually a job that is left to professionals for safety purposes. With our specialized gear and training, we’re well-equipped to make sure that your gas line replacement goes smoothly and efficiently. But what does this process look like?

What Is the Gas Line Replacement Process?

  • Initial inspection and assessment. We check your gas lines for signs of wear, leaks, or other issues. We’ll also assess the layout of the existing gas lines, identifying any problems and determining whether the entire line needs replacement or only specific sections.
  • Shutting off the gas. Before we start working, we need to shut off the gas first. This step is crucial for the safety of not only our professionals but also your home.
  • Removing old lines. Usually, gas line replacement means we have to dig up the old line. This could mean digging trenches if the line runs underground or even removing parts of walls or floors if the line is inside the home. In some cases, though, trenchless technology might be used to minimize damage.
  • Putting in the new line. We will put in the new line and ensure all connections are properly sealed and tested to meet local codes and regulations.
  • Pressure testing. Once we install the new line, we perform a pressure test to check it for leaks.
  • Restoring gas supply. After we have confirmed everything is connected appropriately, we turn the gas supply back on and test it to ensure everything is working properly.
